Grub Club - Extratime

This weekly cookery club for young people with additional needs and disabilities is a joint project between Extratime and Brighton & Hove Food Partnership. Extratime provides specialist care and support and B&H Food Partnership brings a host of expertise in cookery and food literacy.

Each week the group will prepare and share a meal together. At Grub Club young people will be supported to;

• make new friends & have fun
• learn new skills & build confidence
• try new foods & enjoy healthy choices

To ensure the small staff team can offer the best experience to all of the young participants, the eligibility criteria for the club means each young person will;

-        have an interest in cooking and /or food

-        be able to follow basic instructions

-        have good fine motor skills (be able to hold a knife, scissors, cooking utensils)

-        be able to eat and drink independently

-        be able to use the bathroom independently

-        be able to participate and focus for the duration of the session

The nature of this project means that we are not able to offer a place to young people with severe food allergies.

From Thursday 25^th November 2021, Grub Club will take place every Thursday during term time from 4.00 - 6:30pm at Portslade Village Centre, 3 Courthope Close, Portslade, BN41 2LZ.
