The Garden Nursery and Preschool

Day nursery

The Garden Nursery and Pre school provides a welcoming, healthy and stimulating environment, where your child will feel safe and secure. Our five rooms are designed to provide extensive resources and to deliver a broad, balanced and enriched curriculum in a homely, relaxed and happy environment.

Our environment

At The Garden Nursery and Pre school staff encourage each individual child to develop creativity, social awareness, individuality and self-confidence in co-operating and developing good relationships with adults and other children.

Your child’s happiness is our main priority and our highly experienced staff will seek to help them to become confident and well-rounded, with the vital skills to develop to the next stage of their schooling.

The nursery operates on two floors; the 1st floor provides care for the babies and toddlers; the ground floor provides care for 2 to 5 year olds.

The first floor consists of two rooms, one room looks after our crawlers, the babies of our nursery. The other room looks after our toddlers; in this room the children begin the important step to independence, by serving themselves at lunch, tidying up after themselves and beginning their toilet training.

The ground floor is separated in to two rooms. Here the children continue their path to independence.

Both rooms have access to our large garden and a wide range of resources that allow the children to be challenged, extended and to have fun.

Our staff

At The Garden Nursery we provide a high quality and safe experience for your child. This can only be achieved through the careful selection of staff. We know that The Garden’s friendly, capable staff are the backbone of our organisation.

The nursery is staffed with highly motivated, qualified and experienced staff. Every worker undergoes a DBS check which is regularly updated and backed up with references. Our nursery manager is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the nursery and is fully supported by a dedicated team of highly professional, qualified practitioners and experienced support staff.

Every member of staff attends regular training in order to continue their professional development. All staff recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents: we value, and actively seek the contributions parents make towards the care and education of their child. We welcome your input so that we can always improve the provision, which in turn enables us to ensure that you and your child have an enjoyable experience that can be looked back upon with fond memories.

When your child starts at The Garden Nursery you will be allocated a ‘key worker’. Before your child attends you will have a chance to meet with your key worker so that any concerns can be discussed.

Your key worker will work closely with you so that the individual needs of your child are met at all times. The communication between yourself and the key worker is very important and you will be given detailed information about your child’s activities and what they have eaten each day.

Inclusion

Staff can provide additional help and support for children with SEN or additional needs.

Easy access downstairs for wheelchairs / disabled.

All allergies & dietary requirements are catered for.

Food

Food is an integral part of daily life. It enables growth, provides us with important nutrients, and gives us fuel to move.

At The Garden Nursery we provide your child with a healthy balanced diet, whilst introducing new tastes and textures. Wherever possible our produce is locally sourced and is delivered fresh to our door each morning.

Meal times are important times for everybody, no matter how old. We encourage the children to become independent in their eating and to use a knife and fork whilst sitting at a table. This will allow the children and adults a chance to sit down, rest and enjoy each other’s company whilst chatting about their day.

We provide breakfast and will offer a mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and tea.

If your child has any dietary requirements, then we will always adjust recipes or prepare meals to cater for your child’s needs.
