Starlings Childcare is a childminding setting run by Maddie, a qualified primary school teacher with an 'outstanding' record and over 13 years of experience working with babies and children. At Starlings, high-quality education and care are combined with a nurturing home-from-home environment to offer children the very best start in life. Situated in Kemptown, Brighton near the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Starlings offers individualised care for children aged 0-11 years.

My home is a warm, friendly enviroment where children are happy, nurtured and safe. I offer personalised learning and plan our days around each child's needs and interests, supporting children to make progress in all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Activities we enjoy include sensory play and being creative, playing make-believe (through role-play and small world play), music, singing and story time. I have a safe, enclosed back garden where children have daily opportunities to play, investigate and explore. Our outside resources include a mud kitchen, water table and sensory play tray and we enjoy gardening and growing our own vegetables.

I benefit from being within walking distance of the beach and local parks and I also have a National Trust membership and these feature regularly in our learning and adventures.

I am Ofsted registered and a member of PACEY.

Some trips further afield may be chargeable to cover entry costs and travel. Toddlers and Young children aged 1 - 6 £7 per hour Price includes all meals, snacks, nappies and local outings. Each child is seen and valued as a unique individual and I strive to ensure that all children are included and supported appropriately according to their own personal needs. Planning activities and next steps with each child’s interests and individual stage(s) of development in mind ensures that every child is supported to make progress. I understand the importance of working closely with children’s families and with other agencies (for example speech and language therapists or physical therapists) to offer children the highest possible levels of support.
