Our Philosophy - Everyone is equal, diversity is celebrated, and all are welcomed with a big smile.

As someone who struggled to 'fit in' as a child and became a parent of a child with learning difficulties, I have learnt first hand how tough it can be to feel separate from your peers. This division can sometimes be due to educational needs and disabilities, race, culture, religion or backgrounds and can often appear through lack of knowledge, understanding or awareness.

This is why it is so important to me that our nurseries embrace and support all children and their families, working together to ensure our play spaces are inclusive, and provide amazing learning opportunities and positive outcomes for all. Helping to change the world, one preschooler at a time.

After all, none of us are the same, but all are equal and special in our own right.

At Woodpeckers Nursery, your 2, 3 or 4 year old child will thrive in a happy, nurturing space.

Through fun-filled nursery days, they will develop a ‘can-do’ attitude and progress at their own pace.

Your child will enjoy a naturally light and spacious playroom with cosy alcoves for small group play. They will explore a sheltered playground, beautiful wild garden, playground for running and a hall for gym and dance.  

We are delighted to have our nursery in the grounds of the wonderful Hangleton Primary School.

Staff have vast experience and a passion for giving pre-school children the very best start in life and education.

Food

Healthy eating is promoted with morning and afternoon snacks and drinks provided for free. You may bring a packed lunch or book a hot lunch for £3 per day in term-time.

Flexible, emergency and occasional childcare

There are term-time or year around sessions, with flexible hours and no top up fees or restrictions for funded-only hours.

Transport Options

Located close to Hangleton bus stops and a longer walk from Portslade Station. Free parking is available in the surrounding streets.
