Southdown Homelessness Prevention & Mental Health Support Service (Brighton & Hove)

From the 1st April Southdown Homelessness Prevention & Mental Health Support Service will be extended to support householders from the age of 16 upwards. The service provides short-term, flexible support to prevent homelessness and improve people's mental health and wellbeing.

The housing support service offers support to prevent eviction by working with landlords and housing agencies, support to find new accommodation and support with budgeting and welfare benefits. 

The mental health support service can help to develop links with community agencies,  support to build self-confidence, reduce isolation and improve mental wellbeing, offer substance misuse support, help to access health services, employment and learning opportunities. The serivce also offers support for families and carers.

Referrals will be accepted from all organisations across the city, including community bases and health centres, or through self-referral.
