Orchard Day Nursery
Opened in 1991 in the heart of Queen's Park area, Orchard Day Nursery is extremely popular with the Queen's Park and Hanover community. We care for babies from 6 months and children up to 5 years. We are extremely proud of our reputation and provide excellent care for children in a wonderfully positive environment. The recently refurbished nursery occupies the ground and part of the upper floors of a converted old church and the building is an impressive example of Victoria architecture.
Our environment
The baby room is a bright and colourful space with a quiet carpeted area for younger babies to play. The main hall is large bright airy space where children aged 20 months to 3 years have the opportunity to play and learn in designates areas for all aspects of learning in the EYFS. Our Pre-School group for children aged 3 to rising fives have two rooms, one for role-play and the computer and one which is set out to cover all areas of early learning in the foundation stage. We have three cubical toilets upstairs. There are daily opportunities for messy play, art and craft activities, role play and some cosy areas for quiet play, reading and resting.
Outdoors, we have an outside play area with a soft safety surface which is suitable for all ages. There are also two large sun awnings to shade children in hot weather. We like to play outside in all weathers and children have free flow indoors and outdoors during the day. There is plenty of outside play equipment for children to enjoy and explore.
Orchard Day Nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year.
Our staff
The staff combine the stimulation, variety, social interaction and education provided at nursery with the security, warmth and happiness found at home.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We are committed to providing a childcare place, wherever possible, for children who may have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities according to their individual circumstances, and the nursery’s ability to make any reasonable adjustments in order to provide the necessary standard of care. All children will be given a full settling in period when joining the nursery according to their individual needs.
Inclusion
We are committed to the inclusion of all children. We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs.
Food
We have a well-equipped kitchen that is run by our onsite chef. We supply breakfast, lunch, tea and morning and afternoon snacks. We are regularly inspected by environmental health and currently have a 5 star rating.
