Honeycroft
Honeycroft is a registered charity established in the late 1970’s. Today, our activities have grown to offer a range of family services based at St. Barnabas Hall on Sackville Road, in Hove. These include; Nursery, holiday club, after school Pick-Up & Play service for 5-11 year olds and space for learning and leisure activities for the whole family. Honeycroft’s core ethos are learning through play and access for all.
Honeycroft is open 48 weeks of the year and offers breakfast sessions, after school pick up and a school holiday club.
Our environment
Honeycroft believes all parents and carers have a right to access affordable, quality services for their children. We believe in the importance of learning through play and inclusion for all.
Our staff
At Honeycroft we provide a friendly and safe environment for all children to develop and thrive by selecting staff who embody the Honeycroft spirit. Our diverse and capable staff are supported by a group of exceptional trustees.
The nursery benefits from a large open-planned space with a high ceiling that provides lots of natural light. The space is divided into different learning areas to support free play and the delivery of the Early Years Foundations Stage (EYFS) framework which supports each child's development and learning.
Children grow in confidence and quickly gain the skills they need for their future learning. They learn to get along well together and show concern for their friends. 2019 Ofsted report.
Flexible Childcare
Extra hours/one off sessions can be booked and paid for on the same day.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We have a history of over 30 years providing inclusive childcare for 1 to 11 year olds. All our childcare services are inclusive and our centre SENCO has more than 16 years' experience working with and supporting families with children with additional needs.
Inclusion
Wheelchair access (with assistance).
Food
Honeycroft's five-star Food Supervisor provides the hot vegetarian meals for the children. All children staying on site for lunch share a hot meal together which encourages healthy eating habits and develops social skills.
A menu of daily meals is available at the start of each term.
Children take part in activities that help them learn to appreciate the importance of a healthy lifestyle, such as yoga sessions and they enjoy nutricious meals and snacks. Ofsted report 2019.
Transport options
Buses 5, 5A and 5B stop close to the nursery.
