Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard
Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard was founded in 1975 and has been providing services to the LGBTQ community in Brighton and beyond ever since. Originally operating as a helpline, Switchboard has expanded over the years to include an older LGBT project, a Trans Survivors Switchboard, an LGBTQ disability group and the LGBTQ Health and Inclusion Project.
The helpline is a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space run by trained volunteers who will listen, inform and support callers. Open Mon-Sun, usually between 5pm-9pm (7pm on weekends) callers can phone, email or webchat with someone about anything that’s on their mind, to receive information or get emotional support.
